Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in San Diego with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in California may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 11:30 amβ8 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (619) 497-0914. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 4,892 reviews, which is a strong result for a seafood market in San Diego and suggests consistent service.
San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Great place to get some seafood! Lots of options to choose from. The seared ahi tuna in wasabi sesame seeds was perfect. Slightly seared outside and raw is the middle. Very fresh and tasty!! It was completed perfectly by a salad with blue cheese dressing and a draft pizza port beer π» The stuff was nice and super friendly!!! Will be back to try other dishes.

βββββ 10/10 β Blue Water Seafood, San Diego Blue Water Seafood was a wonderful return visit and did not disappoint. While visiting San Diego, we searched through old photos and realized we had eaten here seven years ago. The memories came rushing back, and we decided to visit againβand weβre so glad we did. The seafood was just as fresh, flavorful, and delicious as we remembered. Everything was prepared perfectly, and the quality of the food reminded us why this place stood out enough to make it into our photos years ago. The portions were generous, the atmosphere was casual and welcoming, and the service was friendly and efficient. Itβs rare for a restaurant to live up to a memory after so many years, but Blue Water Seafood exceeded our expectations. Returning after seven years felt like reconnecting with an old favorite, and the experience was every bit as enjoyable as the first time. Weβll be sure to return on our next trip to San Diego.

Food is delicious & the fish is fresh! We've had better clam chowder, but it was still good. The gal at the register was great - answered all our questions/gave her opinion between choices we were struggling on. She didn't make us feel rushed despite the growing line behind us (we were truly trying to hurry, though, because of it). If you like sashimi, get their sashimi appetizer! We haven't been able to find a good place for sashimi since we moved to Southern California 5 years ago. Don't get me wrong, we've gotten good sashimi, but not cut thick & with good quality that is worth the price like this place. The price wasn't even as high as many of the other sashimi places we've tried! They give you only 2 fish choices on the plate, however. They have listed about 5 or 6 different kinds on the menu, but it depends on what they have available for the day. We had salmon & tuna. Salmon is my favorite, but their tuna was fantastic! First time I can say I may have liked it better than the salmon!! Their other dishes we had were also yummy. My daughter loves scallops & they were cooked to perfection. I don't usually like scallops because most places cook them till they're rubbery. Not

Blue Water Seafood Market was an amazing spot for fresh seafood in San Diego. The food tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I especially enjoyed the fish tacos and seafood plates, and you could really tell the quality of the ingredients was excellent. The atmosphere was casual, relaxed, and welcoming, which made the dining experience even better. Even though the place was busy, the service moved quickly and the staff were friendly and helpful. Sitting outside and enjoying fresh seafood with the San Diego weather made the experience even more enjoyable. If you love seafood, this place is definitely worth visiting. The portions were generous, the flavors were great, and overall it was one of the best seafood experiences I had during my trip.

The Hype Doesn't Quite Match the Hook Iβm struggling to see why this spot is constantly topped with "must-visit" lists. My recent experience was a bit of a letdown, mostly due to a disconnect between the price point and the actual service provided. The Wait vs. The Value: There was a massive line just to get in, which I wouldn't mind if it led to a full-service experience. Instead, you wait forever for counter service, yet the prices on the menu definitely reflect what youβd expect to pay at a sit-down restaurant with a dedicated server. The Food: I ordered the fresh fish, and while it was perfectly fine, it wasn't "outstanding" or worth the long trek. It was "okay," but San Diego has plenty of fish joints that offer the same quality without the logistical headache. The Service (or lack thereof): This was the biggest frustration. I was told the outside gas heaters weren't working, so I was squeezed into a table for one right near the counter, basically staring at a wall while I ate. However, when I walked out after my meal, the outside heaters were clearly working and people were sitting comfortably. Being misled about seating just to tuck a solo diner out of the way felt like
